Kandinsky continues his extensive travels across Europe. He lives in Berlin, Paris, and Switzerland. In December, he and Gabriele Münter arrive in Rapallo, Italy, where they rent a house until April 1906. He begins participating in exhibitions of the New Society of Artists in St. Petersburg (1904–1906). In Paris, he becomes acquainted with the work of the Fauves and Gauguin.
