- Kandinsky continues to refine his own artistic language and creates two major works this year: Composition IX and Dominant Curve. Composition IX* is another monumental work in this series, in which biomorphic forms in pastel tones float above bright diagonals, symbolizing the harmony between chaotic natural forces and the human striving for order and balance. Dominant Curve, which the artist himself considered the more successful of the two, is a freer, more spontaneous canvas. There is more light, air, and dynamism around a single center, creating a sense of almost dancing movement.

- May — a major solo exhibition of the artist's watercolors, drawings, and graphic works opens at the Galleries of Thomas Agnew & Sons in London.
- December 3–19 — a major solo exhibition at the Parisian gallery Jeanne Bucher, titled "Kandinsky. Toiles récentes. Aquarelles. Graphiques de 1910–1935" (Recent Paintings. Watercolors. Graphics 1910–1935).
- December — participation in the large-scale international exhibition "Fantastic Art, Dada, Surrealism" at MoMA in New York, where his new biomorphic canvases were exhibited.
