This work was originally owned by Johanna Margarete Stern, who purchased it directly from Kandinsky . After being looted by the Nazis during World War II, the painting spent decades in the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven . In 2022, it was restituted to the Stern family heirs and subsequently sold at auction.
