Although in Improvisation 31 (also known as Sea Battle) the forms may appear completely abstract at first glance, a closer look reveals clearly recognizable images: two sailboats, the outlines of a city, and even the contours of human figures. Suddenly, amid the swirling waves, a fierce naval battle emerges.
